Inspector Committee Update

TPREIA was present at the Inspector Committee meeting on Monday July 21st. Five inspectors were present from various locations around the State. A rather short showing but the comments to the IC were many and showed a significant increase and interest in keeping abreast of the evolution of the SoP’s. Congratulations for that.
The SoP’s were adopted and approved to carry to the TREC Commission on August 18th. Devon Bijanski, Assistant General Counsel for TREC told me that it would then take two weeks to be posted on the Texas Register and on the TREC website, after which there will be another 30 day comment period.
I know that you have most likely already had an opportunity to download the adopted SoP’s so I am not going to send them with this email. The ones available are not website ready nor cleaned up. I encourage you to wait until they are posted on the TREC website. TPREIA will notify you at that time.
These modified SoP’s are deserving of reading and another comment. Take a break, do some inspections and TPREIA will notify you when they are available. I was very pleased at the number of comments made to the IC. It says that the Texas Inspection industry is taking themselves seriously as an industry. Good for us. We should consider ourselves more of a profession than we are sometimes able while up to our knees in the mud of a home badly graded.
