Houston becomes the first TPREIA Chapter!

    By Edward Robinson | June 5, 2008

Thought this was interesting. Got this from Mike Cothran over the weekend. Thought it was of interest as it appears to be a growing organization. I have attended their meetings when they were TAREI affiliated and thought they do a good job.

TPREIA Proudly announces that at the membership meeting on May 17th 2008, the Greater Houston Chapter voted unanimously to become the first TPREIA Chapter in Texas. While the chapter membership enables the Houston Chapter members to become TPREIA members, Chapter membership is not required to do so but is encouraged. Chapters and the State association both have roles to play in marketing and educating the inspectors of Texas. Chapter meetings are held monthly.

During the meeting 70 Houston area inspectors were present at this first Greater Houston Chapter of TPREIA meeting where several speakers presented timely information to the audience:

TREC Inspector Advisory Committee Chairman Larry Foster and Committee members Brad Phillips and Fred Willcox presented updates and information on the proposed SoP’s and the revised report form. Both are available and in a comment period at the TREC website. It is important that you comment…this is your livelihood..your silence means you like and accept it.

The main speaker was John Eckstrum who is the Chairman of the TREC Commission.

He is newly appointed this year and truly wants to better the Commission and its licensees and its charge to the consumer. He came, not only giving answers but, looking for input.

    Thanks Mike.

Edward Thank you for posting this, TPREIA really was born of a need for a Texas association for Texas inspectors. Born of the need for the Texas inspection industry to unify in order to get anything accomplished. And for the inspectors to be proactive in this effort. The days of the single inspector running on his or her own do not work. Although the Texas inspector numbers are small, we surely can get more done together than separately.
      Regards

One voice, one mind, one goal. To produce the most compitant inspectors in the state and give them a voice. What a novel concept. To support one another through a wealth of knoweledge and expertise, and to encourage growth and fellowship. This is the inspector community of the future and we welcome it. I have been to their meetings and the energy is high. Individuals finally seem to have a voice in Houston and beyond.

FREE TREC Continued Education hours for TPREIA Members. Yes you read this correctly. That’s is what TPREIA Members are receiving in return for their membership into TPREIA.
