TREC Proposed Revisions Which Affect Inspectors

Well like many of my fellow inspectors I have tried to keep up with the ebb and flow of news as revisions to the inspector’s standards of practice from the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) trickle out to the public. I have to say I was critical of the process up to this point in time. The process was poorly defined with revisions sent out by email as requests for feedback to the commission were made. I thought this process was poor and given the currently available technology could have been better organized. My biggest complaint was that if you were not on the correct email list you never got many of the updates as well as the lack of a static document to review. This was tedious to many of us who run a business and work long days doing our daily work as well as running the business. Well now the final version proposed to the TREC commission is posted to the TREC web site for your review.

I have taken some time to try and condense the page of proposed amendments which appeared to directly impact inspectors into a single PDF file. I like to work with documents in this format since it makes them easier to work with when I only have short periods of time to work on them as most working inspectors do.

Enjoy the light reading and be sure to send your feedback to the TREC for consideration. It is the only chance you have at making your voice heard in an individual way.

If you wish to comment here you will have to create an account and get an approval of your first post. This normally only takes about 24 hours so be patient.

    Best Regards….
